  • Had several discussions/arguements with some of my friends who are religious, they get mad when I ask them some rational question about their religion, well because they can't rationally explain them, and if you believe in something your whole life, you tend not to give it up just because it might be irrational.
  • ex-friend
  • yes, that is sometimes the case. it may be that the person has a traditional/inherited belief, but is not feeling the strength of it personally. So they fend off questions, to avoid facing their own doubts. Most people with personal religious beliefs are happy to discuss them, though, you still have to be careful. there is a fine line between open discussion and the feeling of being attacked, and no one can know where that line is, except the person themselves. I know I have crossed it many times in my zeal, and I apologise for unintended hurt.
  • yes the key word is religion! The relationship I have with God is much different. It is like you asking about a friend. I Share and I do not get defensive if you do not like my friend. I wish you would but I can not make you. Yes I have known many folks like this. Its sad...I don't want what they have! And neither do you...its not the way to win over souls to the Lord.
  • Religion gets you out what God is trying to bring you into. Follow God, not religion.
  • Religion provides a comfort zone in the mind for those who feel uncertain. All things have 3 basic wants; Safety (Quatifiable), Freedom (Choice) & Love (Paradox). It is the motivation behind all actions.
