I just found out that my friends father has been given 2-3 weeks to live (cancer) her mum died from cancer 4 years ago. i was wondering should i tell her i will mind her young twin boys so she and her hubby can go out for a nice meal with her dad?

- I know what you mean, but it's such a sweet gesture, and so obviously from your heart, honestly, I can't imagine that anyone would see it as anything else. It shows a real senstitivity to what your friend and her family must be going through. Think about what you'd be giving her - a little bit of uninterrupted time with her dad and a sweet memory she might not have, otherwise:) Priceless, truly.

I think it would be a great idea, but it may also be nice to suggest that they ALL go out for dinner. The kids don't have much time left with their grandpa and, unless they are really very young, they should get to spend time with him and make those last few memories before he's gone.
