  • it won't fire in the sense that you think, a cartridge fit tightly in the breach of a gun and the barrel stops the brass from expanding so the bullet can only go forward, the cartridge will explode in a fire but won't have to same force as a fired one. BTW a bullet and a shell make up a cartridge, the bullet is the lead or copper coated lead
  • basicly what was already said by not being in a cylinder of some sort the energy given off is wasted giving next to no energy to the lead so loss of compresion equals loss of power.
