Good list, but I bet you could probably come up with 4-5 more if pressed? From your profile you ought to be very familiar with them. I just realized the comments are working again! You were the first unfortunate recipient.

Yes, I can come up with a very long list of books, but usually this question is a beginner's question, so I try to just hit the core basics and not overwhelm the questioner. I've cut/pasted and updated this answer quite a few times now. And HEY, how about them comments! WOOHOO!
by Stableboy on March 1st, 2007
I find although I like some questions, I enjoy the comments sometimes as well or more. Depends on who I am talking to of course. WOOHOO indeed. Isn't that a Zen term? :)
by Anonymous on March 1st, 2007
No, I don't think so. WOOHOO is a universal term. No religious afiliations. Sort of like Wheeee, Gosh, WOW, and similar other exclamations.
by Anonymous on March 1st, 2007
Yes, WOOHOO is strictly a Buddhist term. This is what the Buddha shouted out (in Sanskrit) after sitting under the Bodhi tree for 7 days, gaining Supreme Enlightenment, and seeing the morning star. It's usually translated as "Wonderful, I and all beings have together attained the way". But WOOHOO is of course, much more punchy!
by Stableboy on March 1st, 2007
WOW, guess I am wrong. OK, I stand corrected (now where did I put that Bodhi seed bracelet?) :)

So you eschew capitals to save paper? :)
by Stableboy on June 26th, 2007

When all that we know has passed away (as it inevitably must), the only thing left standing will be the granite monument on which is carved "she was a rebel!" :)
