Have you ever bought anything in a store or a restaurant just because you were to embarassed to use the restroom and not be a customer?

Yes. When it's a small place and they have a "restroom for customers only" sign posted, I'll usually buy a soda or something.

Shoplifing has become so prevelant, that some stores are not allowing people to use their restroom unless they are a customer. I can understand this with the restroom being a place to hide merchandise. So, yes, if i feel there will be a problem, i will make a small purchase just to keep store personell happy.

Yes, all the time when I was pregnant. I knew where every restroom in town was and would buy something every time I went in to use a restroom.

Sure have. Silly part about it is you buy the first thing you see and the cheapest. You buy an ice cream then ask the girl to hold it for you while you GO. I often have a chuckle to myself, we all have bottoms and all wee, I wonder why we are like we are.

I purchased two sodas I wouldn't have bought yesterday because I wanted to use the bathroom at a gas station. The way I see it is that it costs them money (water, electricity, maintenance) to provide the bathroom for my convenience (and BOY was it convenient), Have no issues with them making a buck or two from me if it helps them continue doing so.

Nope. The restrooms are there for the public. I am one of the public. No one knows..you just go in and go to the area marked "restrooms" and then when you leave everyone assumes you were a customer. It is called being a good citizen on the part of the restaurant..you remember that and perhaps one day in the future you become a customer. In the meantime, you didn't steal anything or cheat anyone you simply made use of the public facilities! :)

Not exactly. In that situation, I usually approach the cashier, hand them $1 and say, "Is it OK if I use your restroom? I don't like to do so without making a purchase or paying. After all, your restrooms are for your customers." Usually, they take the $1 and say, "Sure, no problem." At least my store visit got them SOMETHING. (Besides, the $1 usually goes into the cashier's pocket, and not the cash register. LOL)

Yes I did just a couple of weeks ago when I was passing through, Skull Valley, I think that was the name anyway.
