Oh yes definantly for you are the commander in chief and it is kind of messed up in my opinion when they have none but try to mess with the military. I.E. removing dont ask dont tell policy to the current legislation they are trying to push clinton and now obama is trying to do it and both have never served.

Yes, I'd say. But for America, I say it's discriminatory towards the people who wanted to join but couldn't because of health problems, etc. So, NO!

That would be a good idea. Someone who has experienced the horrors of war first hand will be much more reluctant to engage in random, unjustified, indiscriminate warmongering

All presidents need to understand that war is a business. I think that all people who make decisions about our country going to war should either have experience in the military, or one of their children should have to be in infantry. Then they will really think hard before making a decision to go to war.

Yes, but I only say that because I think it would be good for all U.S. citizens have a turn serving in the military.

Yes, since he/she will be the commander in chief of the military services. It should be a requirement of running for the Presidency.

Yes, the title of 'Commander-in-Chief' should demand it. No other company in the world would hire the top executive without the experience--and the proven track record.

Not necessarily, only because I don't want "war" to be their default solution for everything. Then again, I would like them to have the experience, just so they are not naive about the cons of war...

Yes I do. Both the previous and now the current administration are playing games with human lives. Maybe we wouldn't be escalating the war in Pakistan and Afghanistan and turning it into Iraq II if the current president had some first hand combat experience.
