  • Can you remember to go to the toilet? Take it first thing, if appropriate.
  • When I was younger, I taped a picture of a baby on my bathroom mirror. Worked every time.
  • It's just got to become a habit. Take it with breakfast or something you do every day at the same time. *OR* you could try the NuvaRing. You just put it in and leave it for three weeks, then take it out for the week you have your period. It's really hard to forget, haha. Plus they give you stickers to put on your calendar to mark the days. It's what I use. (I have PCOS. Birth control is part of my treatment. I feel I have to say this because some people have found out I'm a Christian and are watching all my answers, it's weird.)
  • i take mine as soon as i wake up. the pack sits on my alarm clock and a remember as soon as my alarm goes nuts and i hit the button. a few of my friends just set reminders on their phones or have a note in their underwear drawer.... somewhere they know they'll look at the same time everyday.
  • Have an alarm set on your cell phone. If you don't have a cell phone get one.
  • Do you brush your teeth or hair everyday? Put them underneath one or the other.
  • They say you should choose an activity that you do every day and place your birth control next to where you do that activity - plus get in the habit of doing them together. Something like brushing your teeth or having coffee works well.
  • Shock therapy. Nothing works like a little operant conditioning.
  • You need to link it to something that you do every day at about the same time. One thing I do every day (whether I go to work or even get dressed) is brush my teeth. So, I put my pills next to my toothbrush and every day when I brush my teeth, I take my pill. This helped me a lot and in nearly 20 years of taking the pill, I probably only forgot 2 or 3 times.
  • I'm bad about that, too. I can remember to take it every day, just not at the same time. If that's the problem you're having then I'll tell you what my doctor told me today - as long as you take one pill every day, regardless of what time you take it, you're fine. The main reasoning behind having you take it at the same time is so you'll get used to taking the pill at the same time every day and will be less likely to forget. I'm trying out the NuvaRing next month, though. Apparently 9 out of 10 women preferred it over the pill, and you only have to remember it twice a month (once to insert it and once to remove it).
  • Have a kid.
