One doesn't, one is just going to have to wait and find out.

Same idea as poker. Life is a game of unknowns. Acute observations combined with experience and preparation can give the illusion of "being lucky". Of course you will get bitten at times, but the idea is to manage your resources accordingly....i.e. don't bet the farm on only an 80% chance of victory.

There's really no such thing as "future karma", that's taking karma and making it something magical. Karma, understood correctly, is just an abstract way of talking about the cumulative effects of past actions. So for example, if I have lied to my colleagues at work repeatedly about how well a project is going, and the deadline comes and I'm not ready, it will be obvious to all that I've been misleading them. That has obvious career consequences. Karma is not magic. There is no cosmic scoreboard where your points are being added up and so forth. It's just a way of talking about cause and effect.

Life is only unpredictable when there is a personal agenda. Otherwise life just lives you, not the other way around. Or you might think of it as an opportunity every blessed moment. Or perhaps life is a golf game where all the best shots are there to find you at the moment you swing - 24/7. In this way, there is zero time for thoughts about karma. Best, :-)

Hindu astrology is able to predict the major future events as per their Karma. I gave astrology predictions to more than 100 persons, particularly with emphasis on future health. Nearly 90% of them told me that the given predictions were correct.

Life is more predictable than we're willing to acknowledge considering what we do NOW determines or influences what happens later on.
