I love the Survivor TV Show and have watched all of them. Here is my question. You know you will on it as a player, why don't you study how to survive where you are going? You know find out how to build a fire, what plants to eat and so on?

That question is why I can't watch survivor. I for one would be studying every basic survival technique I can find.

They probably do, but only the simplest things (like making a fire) can be prelearned without knowing exactly where you are going. As an example you might study edible roots, and then discover that those plants on the island that look just like potatoes and even have tubers under them, are highly poisonous and should not be eaten. Plants and animals have too much diversity to be trusted to be the same in different ecologies.

I think they do. But they don't know the specifics of where they'll be living, what will be provided, etc.

My wife and I are both fans of the show and have watched all of them also. I think the biggest problem is getting along with all the other idiots you have to live with.
