Help answer this question below.

I have a 88 chevy s10 with a 4cyl in it. I was driving today it just died on me. It wouldnt start after that and the fuel pump wasnt kicking on at all what could be wrong. Lately its had trouble starting up and the fuel pump doesnt always kick on.Help?
