  • im not really prejudice but smokers though a lot of them try to quit
  • no offense, but it'd be smokers who smoke around me
  • Smokers smell like shit.
  • smokers even though my mom smokes, my dad is trying to quit.
  • Smokers!! They stink!! Someone down rated me for this answer, but it's true. Often in the morning or at night I'm sitting on the train with my eyes closed, I suddenly have this horrible smell, like I'm sitting next to a full ashtray. I open my eyes and another chain smoking salary man is sitting next to me. The stink is offensive!! Smokers are quite unaware of just how much they stink. I know! I used to be a smoker!!
  • I would argue that people are more prejudiced against obese people. Upon first glance, unless they are holding a cigarette, you can not tell a person is a smoker. you can tell instantly if someone is obese. It is a problem that can not be hidden.
  • Neither. It depends on how they take care of themselves. I wouldn't judge either based on one fact, but I *am* very turned off my uncleanliness. (Is that a word?) Smokers who are dirty and smelly are just as bad as obese people who don't bathe enough. I think that is what turns people off, they just don't know it. Think about it - when you see a "fat" young woman who is really well dressed, has clean, well-kept hair, nice makeup, and obviously takes care of herself, I bet you're not nearly as offended. And when you see a beautiful person who looks and smells good and you see they're about to smoke a cigarrette, you're a little surprised. It's the "dirty" stereotype that gets people.
  • neither, why judge someone like that
  • of course i do but not over something as unimportant as if someone smokes or if they were obese.
  • Smokers. You can choose not to look at an obese person if they bother you, but you have to breathe and cannot always being around second-hand smoke or people who smell like smoke. In my opinion, cigarette smoke is the most disgusting smell I can think of.
  • I try to be a non-judgemental person, and am happy to say that I do pretty well in that area, but I have to be honest and say that I do have a prejudice against smokers in how I view their attractiveness. For instance, there are tv or movie actors/actresses who at one time I thought were very attractive, but once I'd see a photo of them smoking or holding a cigarette in their hand.. or see them smoking in an acting role, I no longer find them attractive. For example, I used to think Brad Pitt is one gorgeous man.. but ever since I saw a photo of him smoking, I no longer think of him as being attractive. And that goes for every actor or actress that I normally would consider attractive, at any age. Elizabeth Taylor was one of the most beautiful women in the world, and took extra caution to not be photographed smoking, but a photo or two would sneak out, and after that I didn't look at her as being so beautiful anymore. All these young celebs who are rarely photographed without a cigarette or holding a pack of cigarettes get the same reaction from me. Even those who I otherwise like, like the Olson twins, or Orlando Bloom. Once I link their faces to a cigarette, it's over in my mind. From then on, when I think of them, I think of them as smelly and stinky. If they have beautiful long hair, all I can think of is long stinky hair. About a year ago, I was with friends in Las Vegas and at the non-smoking table next to us in a restaurant we were in, sat Angelina Jolie and a female friend. She wasn't smoking at the table, but the reek of stale cigarette smell coming from her was horrid. And when she stood up to leave after finishing her meal, with the sway of her hair as she put on her jacket, the stink was almost unbearable. The stench followed her all the way out the door. That was a perfect example of how I view smokers -- the memory of the smell overcomes any visual memory. So yes, even though I have people in my life whom I love dearly but who smoke, I have to be honest and say I have that prejudice against them.
  • Neither. the world is full of both and most are very nice people. some habits are hard to break.
  • Smokers because their air pollution can have a negative effect on me. A heavy person doesn't have any negative impact to me.
  • Neither. Lots of things can lead a person to taking up smoking or becoming obese - if the obesity is food-caused then both obesity and smoking are addictive and considered disorders which require assistance. I will however say that whilst obesity affects immediate relatives due to the impact that obesity can have on those around, smoking can have untold consequences - particularly if undertaken around those who do not smoke - passive smoking can be quite harmful.
