Once the people who made them reached a certain level of complexity there wasn't much more they could do to improve on them, so they don't make as much news headlines. Also, once everyone knew how easy it was to make them, it wasn't all that fascinating any more. Coca-Cola even engaged one group to make a crop circle advert.

we do, its just not so news-worthy. put in 'crop circles in youtube and set it for 'this month' and you will see some.

Well see people don't do crop circles anymore because of all the satalites.. which can read a pensil resting on the ground.. Either that or the Aliens decided that the human spieces just isn't worth it, and hell even to take over the planet its already nearly destroyed anyway.. So whats the point the humans aren't worth saving.. Also if its true we are getting closer to a black hole even if they wanted to take 'earth'. The fight alone wouldn't be worth it because supposibly in a few years life will cease to exsist. Like all of the prophets have foretold over the thousands of years, and stating the same thing from places with 'no way' to communicate with.. remember.. the people thought the world was flat like 1-2k years after these prophacies.. so no one dared leave sight of the 'mainland'.
