I use craigslist all the time. Works better than ebay. The trick is to make it interesting and research pricing before you post. Also, you will have better luck posting friday through sunday and to refresh your post.

I have used it with some very good results and without results. Pricing is important and taking attractive pictures of your item(s) to show online. Old out-of-date clothing and shoes do not go very well as well as specialty tools.

My wife buys and sells crap on there all the time. There are a lot of flakes.

Yes, I sold things on Craigslist. There are many, many regular/normal/nice folks who use it to sell cars, baby things, furniture, etc. I've gotten good deals on there but some things are overpriced. Check your competition on Craigslist for their prices. Put yourself near the bottom of the pricing. Make sure your ad give lots of specific details (size, measurements, age, condition details, and 2 photos of the item). That helps eliminate calls about those kind of details. When a person agrees to come, get their 1st name, phone number and a specific time range (between 4:00-4:30) for their arrival and request that if something changes, that they call you back and cancel. When the time draws near, phone them and leave a message that you're checking to see if they are still coming. That is all you can do to ensure things turn out well.
