  • Let it go to voice mail. No caller expects another person (especially of the opposite sex) to answer the dialed phone.
  • I answer it if she is: A.) My sister. B.) My Mom C.) My grandmother D.) My best friend Other than that, I let it go to the voice mail. As far as the ones I would answer (the above choices) I just talk according to whos calling.
  • I'd answer it, say we're at dinner and my friend is in the bathroom would they call back in 5 mins. There's no way I could sit by the phone letting it ring!
  • I am not their executive assistant! It is not my job to answer the phone. Besides, it is rude to talk on the phone at a restaurant.
  • I let it go to voice mail
  • Billy Bobs love shack, how can we service you?
  • If it is someone else's phone, I am surely not going to answer it for them! Think of how awkward that could be when she returns... ("Oh, hey Susie... Mmmhmm... yeah... uh-huh.. Oh, speak of the Devil!") Let it go to voicemail...
  • hello this is (friends name) phone. thats what i do
  • I wouldn't answer it, but I would "silence" it so that the ringing didn't disturb anyone else. I hate when people bring their cell phones out at restaurants.
  • "_____'s phone." More than likely, I'll know who it is, and we'll talk until she comes back from the bathroom.
  • Let it go to voice mail. I would consider it an intrusion to answer someone else's phone (OK, if it's my husband's phone and the caller is a family member or *mutual* friend, I might answer, but that's the only time I would answer someone else's cell phone unless the owner asked me to).
  • All phones OFF at restaurants. OFF! Not even on vibrate.
  • Let it go to voicemail but if it is was a quiet restaurant I would definitely silence the ringer.
  • Cell phone in a restaurant? Who do you go out with? Does he eat with a fork? Does he wear shoes?
  • You should have the phone on silent, period. Unless you were expecting an emergancy call, then vibrate is fine. I am speaking from experience that if the cell phone is off and a voicemail is recieved, it may take anywhere from 15-20 min to a few hours to get the message once the phone is turned back on. Leave it go to voice mail though.
  • I personally DESPISE others messing with my phone! But I wouldn't leave it, ringer on, at the table either. I feel it is Very rude to pick up someone's phone and check out who's calling or answer. It's none of your business! But please, do silence the ringer!!
  • i press the side button so it goes to silent. I dont answer it.
  • Let it ring and go to her voice mail.
  • if it's a friend I might answer and say something like "hello,Lisa's phone"
  • Since its not my cell phone, and or I didn't get permission, its not my business to answer cell. Always let it go to voice mail. Here's my reasoning...... 1-They might hang up hearing another person's voice not knowing who you are. 2-They are more likely to leave a much needed detailed message on voice mail then to someone they don't know, or even if they do know you, they may not want to tell you right then..
  • Probably would turn a bowl upside down over it to everyones delight.
