lots of meds - especially anti-depressants - kill the sex drive
-
While I can't rule out another sexual partner, I can vouch for the fact that many medications do indeed inhibit libido.
-
Easy enough to find out. Make a list and Google 'em.
-
I do know that when I was on Prozaz that i did not want to make love at all and had to force myself to because of the medication.
-
It could be the medication. You could search for the particular medicine and it's side-effects on medlineplus.com or on fda.gov
-
I bet it's the meds. Look up the side effects on the net. Don't worry. It's not you
-
It could very possibly be the medication. Lots of them will affect your libido.
-
if you two have never had issues in the past with cheating; and he's been a pretty honest guy, i would completely trust him
-
Many medications particularly those used to control blood pressure can cause loss of sex drive and even erectile dysfunction in some cases. If there is no evidence of him cheating it could be his medication .Ask him to see the Doctor and go with him.
-
It depends on the type of medicine he is taking. I guess anybody could cheat if they wanted to. However, I know my med's limit my sex drive as well. There are a lot of prescription drugs that do. I would trust and believe him until you have a reason not too.
-
Once a month is really sketchy. However, he could quite possibly be taking medication that would yield such decrease in sex drive results. I hate to speculate that he is cheating - I don't want to say anything that will make you start to doubt your relationship with your husband. The best of luck to you. Keep us posted. I'm hoping for the best.
-
I think he may be completely right. You have some good advice here. Follow up on it. An affair is probably the least likely reason for the problem.
-
If he's on an anti depressant, particularly Paxil, Zoloft, and other SSRI's, then that could very well be. I know people who have practically lost their sex drive all together. For folks who are sensitive to the SSRIs in that way, there are options and a new classification of anti depressants that don't seem to have the same side effects, or at least lesser side effects. Cymbalta would be one of those drugs. Good luck.
-
I am on "many" medications (unfortunately), and yes, absolutely, they could lessen sex drive. It could be an even bigger problem if his meds has caused some "failure to perform" problems, which may have totally robbed him of his confidence. Until you see drastic changes in his everyday routine, like ... say, more showers, more phone calls, working later, etc., I think you should just give him all your support and try and work thru it with him. Good luck.
-
Medications do effect sex drive yes, it is very true. Especially psychiatric medications. They are the worst. THere is a new supplement on the market for people who are taking psychiatric medication to ease the side effects from a nutritional stand point. They are reletively inexpensive and you can get them in the vitamin asile at Walmart.
-
There are a lot of medications out there that effect sex drive. Do you have any other reasons to believe he's cheating on you, has he ever done it before or anything like that? And really, I know a lot of married couples (who don't cheat) who have sex even less than that... If you really don't believe him, then you can call the doctor and ask if change in sex drive is a side effect if you know what medication he's on.
-
there are many meds that quiet the libido. Do some quick research online or call a pharmacist with the name of the drug, they will know right off the bat.
-
I take both an anti-depressant and a blood pressure medication. Both limit my sex drive. The BP med also states quite plainly in the pamphlet that it will cause ED (erectile dysfunction) in a large portion of Male takers. As was posted before check for differences in routine. You may need to talk to a professional though if you are not getting what you need from the relationship.
