No, apes are not human. But they should be treated humanely.

I'd like to see human beings getting basic human rights first.

I think that the great apes should get more rights than other animals since they are so advanced. Though, I don't believe they should have the right to vote or marriage. However, I do not think that they should be kept as pets or in circuses. They deserve far more respect and compassion.

Since they are not human, I don't see the point.
