  • I will be crushed beyond belief if Harry dies. I can see how he could die, or how his death would be neccessary, but nonetheless, it will really dissapoint me and make me very, very sad. I think a lot of younger children will be crushed, as well, and parents may need to then explain to them that in war, there is always casualties, and that sometimes even the hero dies. Sigh.
  • I have read the series, I can't say if I would be dissapointed or not if Harry dies... it depends how it happens. For example, if Voldemort just kills him when he is asleep, that would be quite boring!
  • Yes, I have read the series. I am always disappointed when a hero of a story dies. I don't really think she will kill him off. It is a possiblity of course but she has been really good at letting good triumph over evil so hopefully that will continue in the last book.
  • I have read a few, I do believe that the manner of death has a huge impact on how it is received. If it's a sacrificial death, I can see it's acceptance. If it's a death just to shock and kill the main character, boo. Whichever the outcome, I do believe it is the writers discretion since it is her creation... though the fans have come to own the series with their love and adoration.
  • Yes, and yes.
  • I've read the series many, many times. I have grown VERY attached to the characters. However, I can't say I would be disappointed if Harry died. I have enjoyed the series thoroughly and probably will enjoy it regardless of what happens at the end. It's not the result, it's how you get there...and the books are damn entertaining. :-)
  • yes for both, what if the last sentense was: then he heard aloud rap on his door "harry get up its dudley b-day" it had all been a dream. that woughd be sad
  • I've read every Harry Potter book more than twice. I know them front to back. If Harry dies, I would cry and would probably be upset behind it for awhile. I cried when Dumbledore was killed, although I believe there's something extra to that. I have to admit, though, that I think Harry WILL die, but Voldemort will go first. Harry's saved everything up to this point, so if he does it again I wouldn't be surprised.
  • No I have never read the books and No his demise will not upset me in the slightest. I have seen a couple of the Films on TV and they were mildly amusing
  • Yes i have, and more than once. yes i will be VERY disappointed if harry dies, and if any of the main characters (excluding voldemort) dies.
  • yesive read the series, it depends on the book if im dissapointed with it not if harry dies or not. i might be depending on how he dies (if he does). why? thats not what happens in the book does it?
  • She already killed off two major characters. If she kills Harry, I think her fans will be devastated and will want to forget the story was ever written. And Harry is still a child--I can't see how he can possibly prevail over Voldemort at his age without help from Dumbledore or Black.
  • Yes. I have all the books and movies. I don't know about my feelings toward Harry's demise. It depends on the whole of the story, and HOW it would happen.
  • Yes, twice over. I don't know, I trust the author's heart to do what she feels is right, but I suppose I would be a little disappointed.
  • I have read the Harry Potter series and I can understand why it might improve the ending of the series to kill Harry, but I have to say if he does die I will be very sad.
  • not yet. yes i would be dissapointed if Harry dies
