Yes but it will not be very easy.

They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Any pet trainer or dog lover will tell you that in the psychology of your animal's mind, they really want to please you. When they are disobedient or bad, that does not make them happy or feel good. It can be hard mastering the commands that truly communicate obedience to a dog. Some dogs (such as mine) resist most training. That being said, my 5 year olds surprise me everyday with their capacity to learn, understand, and accommodate their people's needs. I house-trained them as puppies, but still, I think that a dog's capacity to learn is on par with his capacity to love.
