It looks like the police could do it if they really want: "Deadbeat dad who owed $94,771 in child support arrested Baltimore Sheriff's Office says it is pursuing top 20 violators. The Baltimore City Sheriff's Office said today that they arrested a 48-year-old man who owed more than $94,000 in child support payments to two women -- a sum that had accumulated over the past 15 years. Sheriff's deputies arrested Warren Lee Dangerfield -- listed as one of the agency's top 20 child-support violators – on Tuesday morning at a home in the 500 block of S. Decker Ave., in Southeast Baltimore. Deputies found Dangerfield living in the basement of the home and arrested him without incident. Dangerfield had been wanted on a child-support violation warrant since Sept. 14, 1994. Despite several arrests by law enforcement agencies in Baltimore over the years, that warrant was never served until this week, according to electronic court records. Lt. Sam Cogen, of the sheriff's office, said Dangerfield was taken to the Central Booking and Intake Center for processing. Dangerfield is being held on a $22,500 cash-only bail on a contempt-of-court charge connected to his alleged failure to abide by a paternity agreement, according to Cogen. Dangerfield's arrest was part of an operation that the city sheriff's office launched three months ago where they are pursuing the top 20 child support violators in Baltimore. Dangerfield owed the second-highest amount of child support among the group, at $94,771.91. He has four children with two women, authorities said. A man identified as Carl Skinner Jr. owes the most, at $111,859.65, the sheriff's office said. Since the operation began, the sheriff's office has arrested 11 of the top 20 violators."
