Because who else can they quote? Real scientists? Not likely. It's all they have . Too bad.
-
good question. probably because they take the Bible as God's word and therefore see him as the ultimate authority on anything, maybe not taking into consideration that the person they are talking to probably doesn't, so its not even worth going over. also, they usually quote it just to explain why their religion is against or for something.

((They don't have anything else...))

Most other sources that back the bible quote the bible, so it's a endless circle really. Besides that, Christians take the bible as the word of God Himself. For them, there is no better source.
-
That is a very good question! I'd say they only quote the Bible because that is all they know. Your average Christian does not rely on any outside source to back their belief. That is because their religion is based on faith not fact. And the Bible is the only "fact" they need to rely on. I do not wish to offend anyone with my answer or choose sides so please do not down rate me just because you are prejudge towards non-Christians.

God said they believe it that settles it A mormon catch phrase that was poular in the 80's went I don't have to think. The thinking has been done for me......
-
Because it is Gods final authority. Why would i want another source?

Being a Christian myself I can say that's a good question, and I think that some other folks in here have answered it well. Christianity is faith based, not science, so you're correct in saying that Christians quote from the Bible, because that is the truth, or God's word. Good question.

These people lack faith and feel a need to cling to the Bible.Faith is a state of openness or trust. To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float. And the attitude of faith is the very opposite of clinging to belief, of holding on. In other words, a person who is fanatic in matters of religion, and clings to certain ideas about the nature of God and the universe, becomes a person who has no faith at all. Instead they are holding tight. But the attitude of faith is to let go, and become open to truth, whatever it might turn out to be.

They down rate, flag questions and answers, and whine about anyone who doesn't agree with them. They aren't the brightest lights on the christmas tree.

Would a doctor quote from a fishing book to back up his medical opinions ,and many other examples can be used ,,but quite often ones who do quote Bible as their source ,will also post quotes from historians which back up their beliefs . Good question
-
Because they're special.
-
I think it's only because that's all they think they need. "God said it, that settles it" is the narrow-minded saying they use now I think.

There is one thing that you are forgetting about the Bible. It is not a single book. It is made up of writings from many men who were inspired of God. These men received their revelations and wrote them down over a period of thousands of years. So, the Bible is not a single source. It is a collection of multiple sources that support each other. So, in quoting from the Bible, one is not citing from a single source. One is quoting from a collection of sources.
