Yes, the raw fish retains more of the original protein and vitamins vs. cooked. Most people call the green stuff "wasabi" though it is usually just Japanese horseradish masquerading as such.

I like sushi too. But I cannot do the wasabi ('green stuff') at all! Ick and too hot!

Broadly speaking, yes, sushi is good for you, provided it is, as it should be, really fresh. Relatively low in fat, high in oily fish. There could be problems with too much mercury from some fish, so you should probably not live off it. The green stuff is probably wasabi or Japanese horseradish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasabi .
