  • My recollection is about 300mB
  • 2GB is far more than enough space to get the OS on...and then some. I've had many VMWare guests running XP in less than 2GB disk space...don't need any more than that for a dedicated browsing VM + a dedicated bank-browsing VM + a dedicated online-purchase VM, etc...it's almost necessary to compartmentalize workstation tasks into separate environments these days.
  • Been there, done that, and ran XP fine off of a 2GB hard drive with plenty of room to spare. How much really depends on what components you decide to install, but it's less than 1 GB regardless.
