  • Have you ever thrown a rock into a puddle? so just imagine that on a much bigger scale. The force of a meteorite that big hitting Earth is rediculous. It's got to be as powerful as thousands if not millions of nuclear bombs. Think about the tsunami that caused so much devestation in Indonesia. that was the result of an earthquake. the meteorite had to be thousands and thousands of times stronger. and on top of that, its not just a wave, but the cloud of debris would block out the sun, and it would also cause all kinds of volcano eruptions. its just hard to imagine how much damage that would cause.
  • That is not all together correct. While it may be true that a lethal tidal wave was generated in the Gulf of Mexico, Its effects were only for the surrounding shores of the Gulf and the Atlantic. The Real killer was the millions of tones of debris sent up into the air and beyond - a good deal came down as a rain of fire - having achieved heights above the atmosphere and reentered - such a reign of debris would have heated the atmosphere to leathal temperatures. The second effect was the ash cloud that persisted for many years thick enough to stop plant life from photosynthesis. The plants died, followed by any animals that ate plants, followed by the meat eaters who fed on the plant eaters.
  • It sounds like they are getting closer to finding out that the story of Noah is true. It may take the majority of the scientific community a little longer to figure that out. http://www.earthage.org/EarthOldorYoung/scientific_evidence_for_a_worldwide%20flood.htm
