  • To be classified a serial killer is 5 or more murders!
  • A serial killer is someone who kills 3 or more people in the same way every time, as if in a series. (like a serial number for example). http://ask.yahoo.com/20050204.html
  • A serial killer is someone who commits three or more murders in three or more separate locations with an emotional cooling off period in between the homicides. FOR MORE INFO http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_killer
  • 1 killing is just a murder, 2 killings are a double murder, 3 or more (separate) killings is classified as serial murder, as Penny the Wise and Berenise said above. The cooling - off period in between each slaying is one month. Don't ask me what someone is called if the period is less than that, I don't know I'm afraid. Well actually there is an example of that: Steve Wright of Ipswich, Suffolk, England killed 5 women in less than a month (2007 I think), yet he still got classified as a serial killer even if this was strictly untrue, because there was no intrim cooling - off period. I do hope I haven't confused matters for you.
