I think he should be strung up by his pubic hairs from a high tree while being tazed (sp?) himself.

I think regardless of the voltage, it was abuse and he ought to have someone tase HIM, only on his way to jail for child abuse.

Your question was the first time I heard about the incident. I checked out the story online. How VERY tragic. I wonder how the need for control/feelings of helplessness in that young father became what it became? DAMN! Pain (physical or not) is torture when the initiator of the pain consciously uses/DEPENDS ON an imbalance of power in his favor. And what a fucking imbalance! I wouldn't want to get mixed up in ANY decisions concerning the outcomes of all the lives now changed by this. I don't know HOW I could quiet my bias enough to function with a cool head.

He should be locked up at once and for a very long time.
Beaten and tazed every day just so he knows how pleasant it feels and never allowed near a child again

Start by tasing is balls so he can never make another child to abuse. Then kick his sorry ass in jail where he will become somebody's bitch, because any man who has to use a freaking TASER to handle a BABY needs to get his ass kicked for the rest of his life. Sick freak, honestly. It's frightening what goes on in the world.

This is the first I've heard of this crime, but what a poor excuse for a human being that man is. Are these tazer things legal in America? More power to the mother for taking the little one out of that situation, I hope she is able to maintain a healthy relationship with her child. As for him.... let's hope the courts deal with him as harshly as the punishment he dealt out to his toddler.

He needs to be severely punished. My concern is for the mother, his wife, that reported him. She must have seen the welts and burns and it still took 3 weeks to turn him in. He must have her terrified of him. She has given up custody of her son in order to save him. I would like to see a mother like this get a reward. Too many women let their kids get abused because they fear the abuser or because they don't want to be alone. Kudos to this mom for having her priorities straight!

His balls should be tazered and then he should be smeared in honey and tied on top of a fire ant hill... then he should go to jail for the rest of his life and roomed with a big man named Bubba :)

Using a taser on a child is abusive. The child needs to be removed from that situation.

yeah, thats child abuse. that guy needs to go to jail. I mean, maybe if the kid killed someone and it was the dad's last defense, but otherwise, no.

OMG!! I really can't think of anything that would be suitable punishment for him or anyone else who would abuse a child. It really turns my stomach. That some people can sink to those levels of cruelty simply boggles my mind.

He could have killed the child. A toddler isn't big enough to withstand such voltage. I would charge the father with attempted murder.

What are you serious?! That guy should be locked up and have his kid taken from him! Where did he get the tazer? Is he a cop? Are those things available to the public?

Holy Crap! I'd never heard of this story until this! Think about it, the voltage for the tazer is set for adult! On an infant it would be catastrophic!! I'd say stick him in prison for about 10 years, with bunkmates with tazers(and big um...things) Then the electric chair.

what a horrible thing. what a monster. I believe in the death penalty for murder, and, in cases like this, maybe it should even be extended to severe abuse.

Definitely needs to have his child removed and never given that opportunity again. I know the courts won't taze hime but if it has ever been deserved...

I read a story saying that he was using the taser gun in self defense. I ask you all, if you had a taser in your hand and a small child was driving you absolutely crazy (somehow gotten into the knife drawer and throwing very sharp knives or waving around something big and bulky and smashing family heirlooms) would you lose control and stop the kid without thinking, without regarding the possible consequences?

I think 18 months in jail being "tazed" four times a day sould be sufficient. After that he can have visitation rights to the child but not be left alone with it.

I think it's horrible. But it is just one of innumerable methods people use to harm children (and others that cannot fight back). Yes, he deserves severe punishment, but so do the ones that burn, beat, whip, sexually abuse, etc... them. In my local paper just the other day we had someone that had raped a 5 year-old. That is just as bad. We need to not let anger over this one instance overshadow the others.
