I do not know anything about Wiccan so how can I say I think it is a joke. I cannot denigrate peoples beliefs in that way

Wicca predates Christianity. Why would one be a joke if the other isn't?

I do not think it is a joke at all. It's a religion and I respect it. I happen to agree with some of their outlooks on life. Plus the wiccan religion doesn't believe in harming others... so the spell comment was unnecessary

Wiccan is a belief held by some people in a religious manner. To consider it a joke makes almost as much sense as rating someone on Answer Bag down simply because you don't agree with their OPINION. If you don't agree..so be it...doesn't negate someone else's belief, or cause anyone harm. And by the by...as mentioned, Wiccan's do not believe that casting negative energy is a good idea, since what you put out...returns to you..generally with extra hookie to give you a slap for wanting to create harm to another. The most one might do, is to hope someone lives in interesting times and let the energy decide what those interesting times should consist of!

No I do not. I have known many a witch in my day, some of my mum's best friends when we lived in Portland followed the Wiccan religion. And I can tell you, the religion is just as valid as any other, and does not live up to the negative hype placed around the name. Wicca gets alot of negativity from the so called "Major Religions". And it's been severely slandered by Christian propaganda, and doesn't get half the respect it deserves as a religion. But that doesn't make it any less valid.

I personally don't agree with it, but does that really matter? Nope. We have the freedom to choose our course of life, and our belief system. If we're right, good for us, if we're wrong... bad call. But we won't know until the time comes... what time, you may ask? Well that depends on your belief system...

I am a wiccan and i found this comment extremely offensive. no person has the right to say that some-one else beliefs is a joke. And wiccans always ask permission before casting a spell because we believe that the spell will backfire.

The Wican religion is most definitely not a joke, and nor are any of the other religions you probably don't "approve" of. They all have standards and a structure. BTW, Wiccans, don't cast spells, Witches do. See http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/87829 for more on that. And actually, we really DON'T have permission to cast a spell on you either. It's common ethics of Witchcraft that you have someone's permission to preform any kind of spell on them, whether it be healing or anything at all. This is a really offensive question.
