  • No it should be up to the artists, yet life is not fair as we all well know. But we can all come together as one to let them all know they smell like pooh. Damn them, damn them to hell.
  • Of course. The only people who are harmed by it are those who want to duplicate the work without the owners permission. That is like asking "is it fair that car manufacturers put key ignitions in cars?"
  • Yes. It's not like it actually prevents copies from being made...quite the opposite! It forces the release groups to have continually growing talent to crack the latest techniques, many of which carry over into other areas of reverse engineering and security circumvention, which in turn forces the whitehats to step up, wash, rinse, repeat. It's a full circle resulting in both sides becoming more inventive, creative, and productive. That is a fertile landscape for new technologies we all can enjoy :).
  • No, but there's no reason to purchase music online. It can easily be pirated without having to worry about silly copy protection. Too bad too, since I'd prefer to support the artist. However, since the artist whores out to these record companies and their unreasonable demands, it's their loss.
  • YES ; You are purchasing items that these people WORKED to produce and to sell .... sometimes costing them MILLIONS of $$$$ to get out in the market. So; why should Anyone have the right to use it without paying for that right ? IF you made music or movies etc ; would YOU allow anyone who wanted to use YOUR music for whatever they wanted and NOT pay you for your WORK ?
