yes, in real life i say "el oh el" and the word "rofl" i even say "brb" in person.. it really catches people off guard sometimes, but i think they dig it.

I use it sometime when i'm typing. I am noticing the kids in the youth group i work with say it out loud. When they were writing some stories for an art project, most of the pieces were written in sms language. Slightly baffling, im only 23 yet it still took me awhile to decipher the pieces.

I learned the abbreviation 'lol' only when I came to Answerbag 6 months ago. Initially the expression that was being used so very liberally confused me. Then I asked other members what it meant. They explained. And here I am 'lolling' my way around the Answerbag. But never use the abbreviation in real life. I don't presume anyone else does either.
