Help answer this question below.

I want my tongue pierced. i am 13 years old and i am scared. i live in northamptonshire and i was wondering if any1 could recomend a place to get it done. please tell me what you think and if you could recomend a place that would be gr8.
will it hurt

    Don't do it. It's illegal at your age and you could risk some serious health and legal consequences if you lie about your age to get it done. Leave it until you are older.

    Although its not illegal to get your tongue pierced at that age, most places will require at least parental agreement.

    I wouldn't recommend trying to get it done without your parents knowledge. There is a risk of infection even if you do take good care of it. Letting your parents know about it after you have an infection probably isn't a good time.

    Also be aware of your schools policy on piercings. You will most likely have to take it out during school time. Be aware of this when timing when to get a piercing as taking it out too soon will cause it to heal up too much.

    I think that girls with pierced tongues look cheap, even somewhat trashy. I think you should not do it. Wait a little longer and you will understand that you don't really need it.

    I don't believe anywhere in the UK will pierce your tongue for you until you are aged 18 unless you have your parents' agreement.

    it hurts like a B***.
    it also swells to twice its size and if you have a bad gag reflex you are in for a world of problems..got mine done thought it was cool..I have never been so miserable in my life I made it three days before having to remove it and still could not eat for another week.

    It will hurt and you will probably regret it, and I dont know if anyone will do it as you're under 16....if you lie about your age and go ahead just make sure you go somewhere reputable.

    get your parents' permission and have them help you find a good clean place. your piercer will give you aftercare instructions to help with the healing, follow them EXACTLY. it will hurt, that is a fact of life. BUT it won't hurt bad and it won't hurt for long. you should expect a lot of swelling for a few days. good luck

    And then you are going to sound stupid when you try to talk. The thing clacks on your teeth and looks nasty.
    You are also underage and on place with half a mind will do a 13 year old child.
    I have a son that did the piercings but never the tongue...he wanted to sound and appear smarter than that.
    When your body says pain that is usually a warning not do shove a bar through a part of your body.

    its up to youu but you need you mum too . think it through properly i am 13 and i have my tongue pierced , my mum took me and no it doesnt hurt , they numb it so youu dont even no when its done . just think it through properly x

    I recently had my tongue pierced and it hurt really bad. there is no way to hide it from anyone either, because you cant talk straight, and you cant eat. It would be very irresponsible to go get it done without any one knowing.And I've been to a lot of tatoo parlors, sorry hunny, nobody is going to pierce a little 13 yr, old girls tongue. especially if your parents aren't there.

    Not a good idea. Those things have been known to crack or even break your front teeth. REAL attractive. And yes, it does hurt. A LOT. But what the heck. So what if it's illegal? Who cares what everyone here is telling you? So what if your common sense is trying to scare you out of a really dumb idea. You want to be an INDIVIDUAL, right? Just like all your friends? Oh, that's right. All that thing will do is prove what a slave to peer pressure you are. So go ahead. Be a sheep. Get it pierced despite common sense. Enjoy the infection.

    ive got it done now anyway. i love it and it didnt hurt. theres yellow goey stuff coming out but thats just dead tissue i think. but still add comments.

    I cant recommend a place where you can get it done but I think tongue piercings are great! I had one when i was 12 but in the end i decided I didnt like it and took it out (plus school made me!!). They dont't hurt much, only if they get infected (I think that nose and eyebrow piercings hurt more!). If you do get it done, dont eat spicy or salty foods for about a month, ok! Hope this helps!!     im 13 i had my tongue done 5 days ago it dosnt hurt and the best place to have it done is were they sterolize things and make sure you have permission off a parent,, and by the way if it was illigal they wouldnt let kids do it,, lol :) and when its finished its amazing i had a lisp for a couple of days and it was sore but it was fine,, and any yellow stuff that grows on your tongue is a reaction,, your tongue protects itself and trys to heal it quicker so dont worry about it,, and people saying its infected,, if it gets infected it will be becuase you havent clean it properly,, smoking,, and not washed and fingers in your mouth expesialy if you bite your nails avoid that and you'll be fine :) xx

    im 12 and im goin to get my toung peirced next week my dad said it all good but im getting it done in the holidays so when i go back to school i wont sound that bad and the plus side of it is you loose weight cos you dont eat that much lol

    My advice to you is....if you're scared to get it...then i wouldnt bother. Im 13...i have 6 piercings.... two on each lobe, cartilege and eyebrow. I wasnt scared to get any of them . Im thinking about getting my toungue pierced to X)

    If you get it done in the UK, I can almost guarantee it's from someone who is not reputable.
    Most places won't do tongue piercings on anyone under the age of 16 (with parental consent) or 18 without.
    If you get it done before you're even 14, that's even worse on the part of the piercer.

    Given a lack of standards in that respect, it would lead me to worry about other things. Mostly the standards of cleanliness of the establishment.

    Wait until you're 16 and go to a reputable piercer, who you can be sure is using safe equipment in a safe environment, and who knows what they're doing. A certificate doesn't mean as much as you may think.

    No it doesnt...l im 14 nd i have mine done.... the needle is so sharp nd they do it so fast u dont have time to feel tha painnso chillax...and davidhime if The girl is makin a mistake let her so she can learn from it... i still havnt learned and my dad is a cop... sooooo ask questions if ya want

    No it doesn't hurt. It hurts worse to bite it than it does to piece it. It is just a little pinch. The next few days are sore, and swollen. BUT you can't do it under 18 without parental consent. DO NOT get it done by anyone anywhere that is not a legit shop. You risk infection, hepatitis, and death if they pierce a vein. Trained professional at a professional shop only.

    If you really want it done ask one of your family members. Im 13 years old too and im thinking about getting one, but my mom wont let me, so Im thinking about asking my aunt(she's cool with it)
    And if you want it done ingnore the ppl who say "your just being a follower/ its peer pressure etc."
    If you wanna do it do some research and convince someone. I think there are places that will let you do it if you have a gadian. :D

    i dont know where to get it done at where u live. but i can tell u from personal experiance (i have 3 piercings in my tongue) that u cant even feel it when u get it done. the only thing u feel is ur drewl coming out of you mouth.

    You should not get that done. and uh DUH it will hurt. You can't talk right for like 2 days. my 18 yr. old cousin got hers done and it is digusting and it gets food stuck in it...yuck

    I'm not trying to be a downer, but I think it would be a good idea to wait a couple years till your 16 or older. I'm currently 15, I have two hole in each lobe, first hole streched to a 6g, I'm thinking about getting another piercing but I'm taking my time. I would suggest thinking more, and doing more research. And remember your under age, no place will legally do even with parent consent. Also do not think about doing it your self, reconsider the peircing and if you really want it, wait a couple years. If you really want something pierced think about another set of holes for you ears maybe :)

    Unless you like talking with a lisp, having a sore swollen tongue and clicking against your teeth all the time I would not recommend it.

    Both my sisters had it done and it hurt a lot for a long time.
