I'm pretty sure you have to chuck it back, from what I remember from watching the matches. I guess it'd be pretty cool to get the ball, but what if they run out? Then we'd all just end up sitting there, doing nothing!

You don't get to keep it unfortunately (although if the ball leaves the stadium and you are in the street outside then there would be nothing to stop you running off with it, they would probably give it up as being lost). If your team is winning and it is late in the game then you might want to be slow about throwing it back though to waste of the opposition's time to equalise...

You must return the ball to play. Security will take it from you if you don't, and escort you from the stands if you make trouble about it. Just out of curiosity, why should you be able to keep it? People throw things on the pitch at football matches, and supporters with regulation footballs to throw could cause confusion and unnecessary stopages if they were allowed to have them in the park.
