Why are their so many Catholic Priests running around molesting little boys? Are the Catholics true folllowers of Christ?

Woah woah woah. Hold it. Think of how many Catholic priests you've hear about doing this, and then think of how many you believe there are in the world... A majority don't and you've fallen into stereotyping. It might seem like a lot because you don't usually hear about the good priests (which I'm sure there are many.) Catholics have their own beliefs and I wouldn't doubt that they well, believe as they say they do. I think that the priests that do this, they know its wrong, but see God as merciful, believing that he'll be forgiving. (Not saying he wont be, just saying that people shouldn't do things to be forgiven they should do things so they don't have to be forgiven.)

Yes, I'm sure many Catholics are "true followers of Christ", just as many methodists and pentecostals are. (I don't know what it means exactly, but, personally it sounds elitist in some way) I'm not sure there are so many priests running aroeund molesting boys, but those that do, sure get a lot of media attention. There seem to be a few problems. One is celebacy. Not only is it tough, but would maybe tend to draw those who don't forsee a regular married relationship for themselves. Also, the political structure messed up. the church didn't want bad publicity, so they just moved those bad apples along. Instead of being nipped in the bud, they got to offend multiple times over the years. There are some wonderful priests who would never be sexually inappropriate with anyone.

I don't like the wording of this question, I find it particularly offensive and degrading. I am a Jehovah's Witness and although I do not agree with the teachings of the Catholic Church I would never instigate an attack like this, it just isn't right.

I will answer just last part of your question. I know some are, read "Silence" by Shusaku Endo it may help you get your answer. It’s been said that “Catholicism” is a cradle of Christianity. If so, do you remember what cradle rocked you? Was it made out mahogany, spruce, or orange boxes? How much does this matter to you now?

I think that the forced celibacy has alot to do with it. It is not natural to be celibate your whole life. I dont care whether it's priests, nuns, evangelists, whoever...Abusing a child, sexually or otherwise is never ok. Anyone that abuses a child should be shot.
