gives some people an unfair advantage. unless its a job where looks are part of the deal, it shouldnt be allowed. i would feel like such a weirdo putting my picture on my resume
-
I would say don't do it. There is no reason to give them a reason to discriminate against you. By providing a picture you immediately give them an unnecessary reason to by pass your application.
-
In Japan, all resumes have a open space where you are supposed to paste a recent picture of yourself on the resume. This also servers to ensure that the person coming in for the interview is the same person that submitted the resume.
-
I wouldn't recommend it, people make judgements based on looks, not experience.
-
It sounds like a good idea so the employers can see if someone has a professional look. You can tell a lot by appearances.
-
I think that's an awful idea!!!!! It shouldn't matter what I look like, all that matters is can I do the job!
-
It being okay is not the same thing as being forced to do it, thankfully. If I were the most gorgeous person in the world I would not do it, period.
-
Don't do it. If your qualifications are strong, they'll interview you and see what you look like then. They're hiring a set of skills and abilities, not a face.
-
I haven't created an updated resume in years. Now I see some that have hobbies and interests listed. When did that start? A photo, only if you are looking for modeling or TV work.

As a boss... To me, it would say. I like myself just a little too much. And if you just so happen to be ugly to boot... It would imply a touch of stupidity right along with that arrogance. Deadly workplace combination but at least that way, it would be a lot easier to weed them out before hand because without the picture... It's kind of up to chance and you find out these things after its too late. Well I'll be damned... A picture truly does paint a thousand words!

The only time I I think it would be good to do is if they are in a military uniform.
-
Many years ago, it was common. I don't think it's really appropriate now. I'd think it would be pretty strange to receive a resume with a picture.
