  • God is God and you are you. Everyone is entitled to their viewpoint of how they should be treated.
  • God gave us free will and wants us to respect Him, He is our Abba Father. Our number One authority, yes we can enjoy ourselves as long as we obey His commands, just like with your human parents-you could have fun as long as you did as they asked/told you to. Yes He wants us to learn from our mistakes-hince the reason He sent His Son to live among us, die a horrible death, and rise to sit on the right side of His Father. Without Jesus's sacrifice on the cross, we would not have the choice of learning from our mistakes. Hope this helps answer your question. Please note that this is MY belief, and I am in No way trying to force it down your throat. I am curious why you give 'the sims' respect enough to capitalize but show no respect for God? God Bless, <:))))<><
  • I am afraid I think we are a wonderful evolutionary accident, and therefore like the rest of the animal kingdom are primarily meant to: - Reproduce our species - Enjoy life However, we have also developed unparallelled mental and moral capabilities, with which we could make our world a better place for all in it, human, animal or plant. So why don't we? Because humans, like most animals, rarely learn from their mistakes.
  • im traditionally christian but sometimes i feel we are expected to lead blindly behind peoples translations of words. i think GOD is a great creator. not a man or woman, because both are imperfect as in fully understanding each other. do men- aka people- want to be worshiped. yep we do it to celebrities and get on reality tv to be noticed and gawked over. i think we worhip by respecting our blessings of life and taking care of what our creator gave us because if we dont our punishment is we suffer for not maintaining those things.
  • I think that God wants both from us. God created us with the ability to enjoy life and to be free to choose how we would live our lives. He then gave us commandments to guide us through this life. The commandments are not meant to limit us or to prevent us from enjoying life. They are there because God, in his infinite wisdom, knows that they provide the path to the greatest amount of joy in life. The commandments are there to keep us from doing those things that ultimately bring sorrow. As for worshiping Him, this is nothing more or less than expressing our gratitude for all that He has given us. Gratitude is good for the soul. Gratitude keeps us humble because it reminds us that we are dependent on others. Gratitude brings joy to others because it lets them know that their efforts are appreciated. The same goes for God. Worship shows Him that we understand that His roll in our lives and this all, in turn, actually increases our joy as well.
  • very good question. The god of the Bible is pictured as having an identitiy complex, he is very jealous and wants people to be put to death if they worship another god. And he wants total obedience. If I go away from the Bible and assume that there is a creator, I would, as you, assume that this creator is curious what we can do by ourselves, and he wouldn't want total obedience. Altough, the creator might get bored and find joy in destroying everything he created, well that's at least what I end up doing when I play games like 'the Sims' or especially 'sim city'...
  • Personally I think some people make up god in order to stop other people having more fun than they are... ;-)
  • Worshiping God doesn't decrease our joy it helps us find it. Imagine a sims gaining energy after being thankful. Imagine being able to use that energy gain to build skills faster, work during the night, live longer, or get along with family members better. Would you encourage your sims to praise or would you limit their abilities by letting them have access to praise.
  • neither. so he could look down on us and say. wow. i really am stronger than everything.
  • Among us we say: "God is that man might be. man is that he might have joy." . God's commandments are a reliable guide to maximizing our joy over time. . Why would an all powerful, all knowing entity need our saccharin adoration? WE need to worship God. Gratitude and love can be learned in that way. Otherwise we may become selfish and wrapped up entirely in ourselves. And a man wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package.
  • i think god made us so we could enjoy ourselves. once i die ill let you know.
  • If you think God is equal to someone playing with Simms characters you have another think coming, my friend. God did not make us to worship Him. When we discover the desire to know God, the worship comes naturally. God made us to share with us all his creation. God made us in His image that doesn't mean he looks like a person (much less a Sims person), it means we all have the spark of the Divine within ourselves and it is your personal adventure to develop that and grow. That is a lot more satisfying, I promise you, than playing a video game.
  • I believe that God created with the ability to form our own opinions and make up our own mind on various matters, whether we be right or wrong. Then God gave Moses the "laws" for living a good life in God's favor, and had Moses instruct everyone from that day on to "pass along this knowledge" from generation to generation that there is a God and we should worship Him. When Jesus walked on this earth, he did much of the same thing, giving instructions that we should tell other people why it is important to worship God.
  • I for one would not respect any "God" that demanded to be worshiped and would destroy those who didn't.
  • God created the holy hosts for praise and to worship Him that is all they do for an eternity.... That is their purpose and their function. He created us with free will to worship as we please.
  • God gave us the choice to worship Him out of love for our creator....He does not expect us to worship Him out of obligation to do so. Yes, you can worship and love God and learn from our mistakes, and enjoy ourselves. I do every day.
  • God didn't make us.
  • Perhaps if everyone in your Sims game died horrible deaths unless you sent them to Sim Heaven, you'd be more interested in 'saving' them.
  • My poor Sims have a very malevolent God ruling over them. It seems they are always dying in large housefires...
  • Sorry .
  • Nice. However, Death is not meant as God killing your body. If you stray from the Divine, you are causing a death of consciousness. Christ Consciousness is our total focus on even a cornerstone of Divine existence. When we veer from the "worship" or "consciousness" we are dying to the spiritual and focused on the dream which is the physical. Make sense?
  • Well apparently heaven is something in which we get to 'worship' god 24/7. As a reward for worshipping him now. I fail to see how this is supposed to be a reward. If he's our father, then he'd want us to grow up and get out of the house so he and mom can have some private time. But that's just my take.
  • You've been listening to too many fundamentalists. We weren't so much made to worship God as to glorify him and enjoy him. Enjoying God is the same thing as enjoying ourselves, except that it is focused on God instead of on ourselves. What's more, God did create us in a way that we can learn from our mistakes... or at least we ought to be able to. We often don't seem to. (This answer is based on a catechism answer, and I have scriptural support, by the way, so all you fundies out there who hate on me for it, haha, I win.)
  • Me too luv playing Sims. I let them enjoy themselves but I am in control of them!!!!
  • We do glorify God in a way by enjoying ourselves; just like the rest of his creation, we glorify our creator by being happy with how everything works. God gave us things like sex, food, etc to enjoy ourselves with. However, unlike you with reference to the SIMS, God desires a personal relationship with his creation. He wants them to know who he is and enjoy his presence as well. Biblically, worship doesn't just refer to just singing random praises about how glorious the creator is- Worship is the act of aligning our lives with the will of God, that is what it means to give reverence to the Creator.
