  • The world may go anywhere.I really don't care.
  • Great question +3 and I wonder the same thing. I think its mainly religious beliefs.
  • i dont care..why should i care
  • Istn't it amazing how only those who would not stand up and oppose such a thing answer the question? But watch all the people who preach about a "higher being" tell who ever will listen that it is because of religious reasons! When in fact the State and Religion should not mesh at all! lol Go figure I think its a great question..........just hope they give other reasons rather then RELIGIOUS logic!
  • Seeing as how no fundamentalist has saw fit to answer you and I think this is a good question I’ll answer it. No one is trying to ban gay marriage. It’s already banned in most states. What they are trying to do is maintain the existing bans. In other words they are promoting stagnation. It would be better for them if they were trying to ban it. Banning something requires public support focused to achieve a goal. These people don’t have a goal or public support. What they are is the little Dutch boy trying desperately to hold back the sea by putting his finger in the dike. This only works if the hole doesn’t get any bigger and no other holes form. When more holes form the little boy runs out of fingers and toes and gets a bath. The little boy has his finger in gay marriage yes, but he also has his fingers in Abortion, DOMA, DADT, Gay Adoption, Equal Employment, Civil Unions, Domestic Partnerships and Stem Cell Research. This Herculean effort of stagnation is funded by an increasing apathetic base more worried about the environment than who’s getting lucky with whom. In short our little Dutch boy is running out of fingers and toes and has started looking for other appendages to stick in holes.
  • Do I approve of gay marriage? No. Should the state regulate it? Probably not. We're all free to choose what we do. The laws of the government do not legislate what is morally right or wrong. But, we all will answer for our choices. Rev 20:12. I'm so glad that I will not be judged by man's standards. We will all be judged by the one righteous judge - and against his one righteous standard as 'written in the books.' We've been given all the answers before the final exam, you see. It's just up to us to 'rightly divide' it. What is right or wrong? It doesn't matter what you think, or what I think, or what is or is not legalized. What matters is the sovereign judgment of God. For that I am eternally thankful.
  • Because men were created for women and women were created for men. It sets bad exemples for younger children and influences them to do things that are immoral.
  • Homophobia, stupidity, close mindness, inability to mind their own business...take your pick
  • Because men and women should be together.
  • I really think marriage should be banned but legal contracts/unions allowed. With that should come the same financial benefits of a marriage (insurance, health care, transition of assets upon death etc). But they would also be subject to the same fun in divorce as straight couples.
