Not that I know of here in Ohio, it has been a long time. I don't remember if they do that or not. I know the school I used to go to, they would not close even if a tornado was at the doors! lol. When I lived in Liberty, Ky. They did, they'd close for something called 'Apple festival', it as pretty cool!

No they get to much time off and junior just had last week off....He does get 1 or 2 snowdays a year.Kids go to school here when we have 6-8 inches of snow.We are used to it:)

Get him here. Your kid gets a day off for all possible reasons-local elections, mid-term elections, general elections, rainy days, communal clashes, political reasons... He'll really enjoy it here.

Besides the national statutory holidays, I dont remember the kids getting a single day off for anything! Plus we dont have snow here in Auckland, so no snow days either!

We had days off for when our team won the all ireland final and we all went in to celebrate their homecoming.:)

Here in Albuquerque we have days off for the balloon fiesta (the largest hot air balloon fiesta in the world). They call it fall break, but it moves to match the fiesta every year.
