picasso, i can draw something abstract, but you don't see it worth a million bucks :(. Edit: Lol whoops didn't realize this was under music, sorry i started doing this just today. Anyways, i think it would have to be Iron Maiden who was supposed to be a godfather of metal, but i have trouble getting into some of their songs. Also the new rapper Akon, his voice sounds fake... and i just don't like his songs at all.

Metallica. Don't get me wrong, they're great, I just prefer most of everything else over them.

I wish I was in your environment for a day! I know no one that likes Neil Young and I adore him. The big ones: The Clash, Metallica, Elton John Some more: Any emo whatsoever, Soundgarden, any bubblegum punk, Bob Dylan, Nine Inch Nails, Nickelback

I am right there with you on Neil. My husband LOVES him and I think he's whiny. Now, Crosby, Still, Nash and Young different story. They were awesome.

The Beatles, Dylan & Neil Young. I am sure there are more, but this is what in in my thoughts at the moment.

"The Who". I tend to agree with Quentin Tarantino's assertion -- that The Who is one of those bands that no one actually likes, but everyone thinks they're SUPPOSED to like them, so they all say that they like them.

Actually, I find that I appreciate artists like Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Queen, Rod Stewart a lot more now than when I was younger. I guess it's because all the new comers suck.

There are a number of them, but Bruce Springsteen really takes the cake. Awful, commercial trash. And it's not just not appreciating his music, it's acknowledging that it is not idiosyncratic and that he has almost always pandered to a wide audience. You can't say that sort of thing about Bob Dylan or Neil Young as they are both influential, alternative artists (Neil moreso), so saying that you don't 'appreciate' them is about as gratifying as you can be without saying that they're too alternative for you.

I didn't care for Britney Spears when she was popular. There are other artists that at least some of the critics at Rolling Stone constantly rave about that I find find occasionally interesting at best, such as Beck and Elvis Costello. I find their music bland and their supposedly intriguing/clever lyrics usually less interesting than the conversations that I have with my friends.
