If he is old enough to do such a terrible thing then he is old enough to face the law and punishment yes, and as a second thought what sort of dad buys his 11 year old kid a shotgun ( with ammo ) and lets him keep it in his bedroom ?

That's a tough one. I feel bad for kids who can't cope with divorce, dad's new wife, new baby, two other kids in the home, he acted out in the worst possible way, but probably wasn't premeditated. He probably lost his temper over something, and because he is too young to keep himself in check with a gun sitting right there, very easy for him to pick up in a heated moment. I would never let a kid that age have a gun, their emotions are all over the place.

I am in favor of treating an 11-year-old as an adult for purposes of prosecution IF anyone can give me an example of an 11-year-old being treated (legally) as an adult for any positive behavior.
