Christians, it's been said, 'Belief trumps evidence' in regard to how people approach religious faith. If there WERE an evidence that would cause you to abandon Christianity what would it be?

i wouldn't abandon Christianity regardless - for me it is a lifestyle. i believe Jesus demonstrated a good model of a giving, loving existance. that's how i want to try to live my life.

The only people who claim that belief trumps evidence are those who have no evidence. Belief is all they have, so they have to make the best of it. Another word for belief is gullibility.

I'm the wrong person to ask, but William Lane Craig who is a NT scholar, philosopher and one of the worlds leading advocates of Christianity said that for him the discovery of the physical remains (skeleton etc) of Jesus would completely destroy his faith. This being because it would show that Jesus had not been bodily resurrected.

I wouldn't abandon Christianity ... BUT .... MANY of your CHRISTIANS would abandon it IF it was definately proven that this Secret Gospel of Mark , between verses 33-34 were actually legitimate ... OR ; that the Phalien belifes are Legitimate .... Now; those are VERY INTERESTING .... Google them and READ ... then: T H I N K !!

I abandoned Christianity once I realized that God and Jesus were both manifestations of my mind.

If you can convince me that hating my enemies is better than loving them as Jesus taught, I'll abandon Christianity. If you can convince me that my "buddy" (who rubs his "sexual activity" in my face because I'm a virgin) is happier than I am, I'll abandon Christianity. If you can convince me that doing whatever my body craves is better than resisting temptation as Jesus taught, I'll abandon Christianity. PS. If it were possible for you to convince me that there is no God and no Jesus, I would still remain a Christian, because there is no other type of life I'd rather live.
