Question

Help answer this question below.

My mom passed away this week. :((( I am very sad and depressed. My friends suggest to find a hobby to keep me busy and away from my thoughts. I can't do knitting. I need something on the computer. I have no idea what I want to do.
Any suggestions?

I am sorry for your loss. There are a lot of game sites online like pogo.com and such. Otherwise I would say spend some time on a social networking site meeting and talking with people. There may even be online support groups. You could also join an online book club @ bn.com. Best wishes to you and yours in this difficult time.

    Hey, my deepest condolences.

The same thing happened to my friend two years ago.

It simply takes time and no matter to what degree you distract yourself. Talk to people and grieve with your family.

I am so sad for you. I feel your pain, believe me, as my son died unexpectedly last month. The pain is just unbearable sometimes. I find the more I'm out of the house, the better I feel. I live alone and that might just be me. I go to movies. I try to be motivated to do chores, but just don't care. I hope you have a much easier time than I. I'm so sorry for your loss.

There's always a friend on here if you want to talk.

As for games, Addictinggames.com is pretty good.

try this game called ink link on shockwave.com. you'll have to set up an account on, but its free and doesnt take very much time. the game is like pictionary, its a great way to pass time and forget about everything for a little while.

Well, I can't say I know how you feel. Although, in early 08 I lost 4 family members, but no parents. But it sucked a lot! If I was you I'd be with friends as much as possible. Friends are the best medicine.

I'm so sorry for your loss and emotional pain. There are many things you can do online to help with your sadness and depression. You could start a journal at http://livejournal.com (journaling, and/or writing about trauma, has been proven to help people heal emotionally). You could also find grief support online at a site such as Legacy Connect... They have grief support groups, expert advice on grieving, mourning and bereavement. At this thread (http://connect.legacy.com/forum/topics/1984035:Topic:13090) you can find grief support for people who have lost their mother. As they point out, "Losing your mother can be traumatic at any age. Share your grief and talk with others who are coping with the loss of their mothers." You could also do something online that is entirely unrelated. You could write a story or screenplay to focus your mind on something else (or you could write about your past and current experience in story or screenplay form). You can download a free open source script formatting software at http://celtx.com/. Also, http://www.mindstarprods.com/cinergy/scripteditor.html has a free screenwriting software. http://www.openoffice.org/ has free software for creating documents (if you want to write a short story, memoir about you and your mom, or poetry, etc., instead of writing a movie script). You could also watch a lot of funny or cute videos that make you laugh or happy on YouTube. Hope this helps.
