  • That is really odd. How would you explain that? Hummm...
  • either you were still 2/3 a sleep or your daughter is a mutant with mind reading powers like professor Xavier from the X-men
  • are you sure you weren't dreaming that she was whispering "fishes" in your ear?? that happens alot to me...
  • All good answers. Even if she did say "fishes," you have no way of knowing if she had said it earlier and it caused you to dream of fish. Dreams don't have any real temporal laws attached - she could have said it three times, the first time making you dream of them (which could have felt like you were dreaming of them for a long time) and then by the third time she said it you woke up.
  • That must have been both thrilling and a bit erie for you. As I understand this disorder, there are often other elements of the brain which are active in leu of those which help people interact "normally". There is much scientific and spiritual evidence to support eh idea of extra sensory perception, so why wouldn't it be possible this is where here brain is focused. The challenge for you will be to use this experience as a lead into her world and possibly as an opportunity to draw her into ours. I would suggest you place her hand on your head and repeat fishes a few times with a smile and see what she does. As you probably know encouragement of any communication effort by autistic individuals is a major theraputic tool. Good Luck
  • is it possible you murmured fish in your sleep?
  • Freud tested people by having them write down the same dream immediately upon waking, 5 minutes later, 10 minutes later, an hour later, etc. What he found is that the memory of the dream changed as time passed, which is the basis of his dream analysis; namely that we unconsciously modify the memory of the dream. Whether or not you were dreaming of fish, having her whisper the word on your ear was enough suggestion to change your memory of it. Nothing mystical or magical required.
  • i dont know about other senses kicking in, but that must have been weird. my nephew is autistic and anytime he speaks we are all amazed. he can talk, he is 4, but he only talks around certain people. he does more repeating than anything else, but whatever he does positive we encourage. this has been difficult to deal with and i worry about his future. but i must stay positive for him and everyone dealing with autism
  • wow that is incredible! thanks for sharing that story. i believe there is a lot still to be learned about the sobconcious mind and also the true nature of "mental disorders".
  • Wow, cool story...do you think you said "fish" in your sleep....because I'm such a fan of the thought of higher senses. I hope she picked up on it telepathically because that would be so awesome. Keep us posted please!!!!! Three points for your kid!
