Would you still buy a new car from Ford, GM, or Chrysler if they filed for bankruptcy?

Yes. There will be buyers for most of those brands. GM should sell Saab back to the Swedes, Hummers NEED to be gone, and Saturn.... Saturn is a decent car. It is rather specialized, selling predominantly to women, but it is a decent vehicle. I think it is a mistake to get rid of that brand. As far as Ford is concerned: On a quiet night you can hear a ford rust. And Chrysler: PLEASE chrysler, buy a decent transmission! Parts will still be available for the brands that are being eliminated. As far as bankruptcy, it would likely be in the form of reorganization, rather than vanishing as a business.
