Most of the nudist beaches I've been to are predominantly populated by overweight middle-aged German males, so I wouldn't bother too much about what you look like - most people would be an improvement.

I used to go to one very often when staying a few months in Greece.You might notice that you will not get hot and bothered for you will see others just enjoying the sun.Europeans do not look at nudity on the beach as a sexual thing.These days you will see all shapes and sizes of people,though Europeans are usually more thinner than north americans in general.I do not know what you mean about the personal grooming part.
