YES! i know exactly what you mean! BUT, my opinion on modern art goes both ways! It depends on the form of modern art. There are abstract paintings and such, like lines and paint splatters and stuff. My friends father is an artist that does abstract Chinese inspired art. Some of his stuff looks very simplistic, almost (some would say) easy! But in reality alot of thought goes into his work! http://www.williamhoart.com/ The picture on the front page of his site is one of his most famous. Also, DIGITAL modern art is VERY hard to create! I am a graphic artist myself, and have A LOT of trouble making paint like abstract designs. In terms of graphic design and graphic art, its not easy! Especially if you're not working with congruent shapes. Thats my take on it. Though some appear simple, there's through behind it, and even though graphic abstract looks simple too, i dont think a kid could learn illustrator and photoshop and slap together some abstract work!

Nah, I don't think he could handle the marketing. Making that junk is easy, mostly. Getting somebody to buy it? THAT'S art.

Yes there was once a painting in a Canadian Museum which was 3 equal vertical stripes in 3 different colors. They paid 8 million dollars for it and my child would have done it for 2 million.
