  • 10 more men walked on the moon after the 69 mission
  • The last moon landing was Apollo 17 in 1972. My personal opinion is that we had the technology but didn't want to spend the money: In today's money the Apollo project cost about $140 billion. Very roughly every voting American paid $1000. That's a big chunk of money. Any politician who can cut your tax bill by $1000 is going to be popular. Also, we'd learnt some major science and it didn't seem like there was much left to learn on the moon. Also, it will cost several times as much today because we demand that it be much safer. The Shuttles are much safer than the Apollo missions - but two disasters have still occurred. NASA's CEV (Crew Exploration Vehicle) is being designed with a future mission to the moon in mind: see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crew_Exploration_Vehicle
  • V. Putin has asked the US to be involved with a joint mission to the moon and our president has refused so Putin now has decided to join resources with India in going to the moon! I hope they land at the first apollo site and report precisely what they find! Nothing but moon dust and craters with no sign what so ever of any US presense ever landing there!
