I don't see how you can top the three R's...readin', ritin' and rithmetic (apologies to the spelling Police among us). You need to know how to read..it forms the basis of thinking, analyzing, comparing, invesigating, questioning. You must be able to express yourself with clarity when you write, or you cannot communicate with people on any kind of worthwhile level. Arithmetic is necessary..at least the basics. When I go to the store I compare prices...sometimes the per/unit price is not provided so I have to figure which is the better buy. I need to know if I've been given the correct change. I need to know if a so-called "sale price" is actually good or not good. I think such things as morals, ethics, respect for others and integrity should be taught at home, not at school. :)

Psychology, from early childhood to adult, combining parenting skills - too many kids come from disfunctional backgrounds and need educating for when they grow up.
History, kids these days dont know anything of their heritage, which leads to them being nonchalent and disrespectful.
    English, language, literature and comprehension.

Trigonometry, organic chemistry and quantum physics.....just kidding. I'd be happy if they just learned how to read, write(including spelling)and do some numbers (the three R's). Seems to be lacking with todays youth.

Reading (that way, they can learn, throughout their life)

Writing (that way, they can ... well, write, by hand or computer)

Arithmetic (that way, they can get a job doing almost anything... Almost EVERYTHING requires at least some Math)
