I think it would probably slow down the site even more than it is now. There are enough things to go wrong .I prefer it as simple as possible.

Eventhough I love to comment and I like conversation, I don't see the need to have that feature built in. So many users have their emails displayed - that would be the way to converse more extensively for me. It would stay private.
