I floss, then brush for about 2 minutes. Long enough to go around the entire front side of my teeth and the entire back/inner side of my teeth two times each and then to brush my tongue for 20-30 seconds.

I heat my home with a wood stove. This time of year my toothpaste is rather chilly an quite firm in the AM when the stove is cold. I quit brushing when the chill is out of my mouth, load up and do it again. Last warm spit takes about as long as a pop tune.

As long as it takes to make them feel clean. I would guess about 2 min. My son has a blinking timer brush that blinks for 2 mins. Usually we brush our teeth together...so I'd say 2 min. Unless I am running late then its a quicky.

Not long enough...maybe a minute and a few seconds. I read that the fluoride needs longer than that to work and start protecting your teeth.

I have an electric toothbrush and it turns off when I have spent about 30 seconds on each quarter section automaticaly, so I don't have to think about it.

i searched for an answer to this question on the ADA website and was unable to locate the amount of time one should spend brushing their teeth on their site.. however.. in my search i found the following websites that provided a proper length of time (3 minutes) to brush.. i already brush the recommended time and would highly recommend that Hal follow the same recommendations from the following sites to promote healthy oral care and to maintain a beautiful smile.. good brushing could earn a man "SEVEN DOLLARS" in addition, i also found a website that says that OCD sufferers worry about things such as how long should they brush.. amazing.. http://www.healthyteeth.org/prevention/bestWay.html http://www.agd.org/public/oralhealth/Default.asp?IssID=291&Topic=B&ArtID=1127#body http://www.dentalgentlecare.com/toothbrushing_flossing_fluroide.htm http://www.agd.org/public/oralhealth/Default.asp?IssID=291&Topic=B&ArtID=1128 http://www.rapidsmile.com/FactSheets/brushing.htm http://www.harunani.com/newpage3.htm http://www.oc-illnesses-and-creativity.net/What%20is%20Obsessive%20Compulsive%20Disorder.htm Other OCD characteristics In addition suffers of OCD will compulsively be involved in rumination. Such ruminations can be upon profound subjects such as philosophy, religion and the meaning of life. However ruminative contemplation can take the form of very trivial matters such as how long should I brush my teeth. Many hours of such can take place or ruminations can occur in the background whilst the sufferer is involved in other activities or even whilst involved in other obsessive–compulsive behaviours.
