Help answer this question below.
nope. I think we think in the language we were first taught to speak but sometimes mix it up if we speak more than one language. I am bilingual and I think in both languages, sometimes in one sometimes in another. my s/o is korean, she speaks both korean and english...korean at home, english at work..she says she does the same thing. Same goes for dreaming and sleep we both dream in both languages..sometimes one sometimes another, sometimes when she talks in her sleep it's korean or english but mostly korean.
I have read articles on how the first language we learn is hardwired into the brain and others we learn are not though and some people who were first taught one language but later on grew up and only spoke another had accidents, or diseases or different affflictions that did damage to their brain and they defaulted back to their original tongue only.
But as far as I know, myself, sometimes the voice in my head speaks in one language and sometimes the other.
Of course not. Unless you're trained in classical music, for instance, you can't think in the language of classical music as a conductor, musician, or composer does. You have no conceptual basis nor language to distinguish the bridge from the coda or to tell the Viennese solo concerto form from the Rondo.

I think in a few different languages and I know a computer guy that thinks in code.
I suppose the answer is no...
Not even animals think in the same languages. As their non instinctual thought process is dependent upon their masters language.
I asked that of a person who grew up in a family that spoke Italian as their main language. She learned to speak English & Spanish, but she said she still THOUGHT in Italian.
It wouldn't make sense for someone that only knew a language other than English to think in English, so the answer to your question is "no".
On a basic level, yes. We just formulate our expression of our thoughts and feelings verbally with different words. Granted, Don Quixote and War and Peace require a sophisticated verbalization of a high order. But things like "I am hungry, I am thirsty, damn, it's cold!, and, what a hot looking babe!, are all pretty basic thought processes that are easy to communicate without language.
You think in your own language!!! How else could you think??? The ony difference between 2 people using the same language is that one will think 'to make love' when the other will think 'to fuck'! ;)
I don't think so , because we dissagree in many things . We all do not think in the language of peace for example. ( makes sence to anyone ?)
thats a mind boggler? damn you how will i sleep tonight
No.
... thought should come first ... before language ... thinking does not require language ...
... then language is used to put the thought into words so the thought may be communicated to others ...
Nein.
Everythings the same we all just see it in different ways.
not at all. i think in english. as a foreign language student i have been taught to THINK french in order to speak it more fluently. i wouldn't be able to speak it or write it as well if i had to translate it in my head in english.
I only know that when talking in Spanish I do not think the thought in English and translate it to Spanish. I also know there are shades of meaning that can only be expressed in one or the other. The exact feeling can not be translated to the other.
What is something useful that you know, that others don't know, but that you think everybody should know?
