This was BEFORE Adam and Eve disobeyed and were ejected from the garden. this is what God said after they disobeyed... (Genesis 3:17) And to Adam he said: “Because you listened to your wife’s voice and took to eating from the tree concerning which I gave you this command, ‘You must not eat from it,’ cursed is the ground on your account. In pain you will eat its produce all the days of your life. From then on, Adam had to find out which plants were good and which were poisonous.

I wouldn't eat oleanders..they are poison. Same with some mushrooms..eating them will kill you. Don't know how mulberry leaves taste but I wouldn't eat them either. Some things are simply decorative..meant for viewing not ingesting. :)

Unless there is scripture elsewhere dictating what His followers are and aren't allowed to eat, then I would guess that it is up to the discretion of His followers to determine what is and isn't suitable. Deuteronomy may have some guidelines, although Christians don't generally follow the old laws any more, at least as far as food goes. I am guessing that you are hinting at the use of cannabis here. The only biblical commandment I can think of that may apply here is to 'treat your body as if it were a temple...' (or something roughly along those lines). But that adds another question to the mix: Is the use of this God-given plant considered a desecration of this temple? There are more harmful (or just as harmful) substances that Christians use, whether it be prescription drugs, alcohol, or even over the counter drugs. And they seem to have no problem with it. I think that this is an issue more affected by society than it is by religion. Circumstance also plays a role here too I believe.
