Yes. I think there should also be a minimum intelligence requirement met to be allowed to reproduce.

That would be nice. I can see a form to fill out- asking basic questions about government, politicians and differences between them. But it won't happen because the ACLU would say we were discriminating against the stupid. Nice dream though.

No, I do not think this would be a good idea. Regardless of our level of intellect we should still have a right to vote. If a certain group of people are not allowed to vote (because of race, gender, sexual orientation, intelligence, etc.) then this opens the door for them to be neglected and opressed. Anyone who has to abide by the laws and regulations set forth by their government should be allowed to have a say in who they would like to see make these decisions. It is true that some people may be more easily mislead into voting for someone through lies and empty promises, but that's part of politics. Even the most intelligent of us can be fooled.

And the test would be determined and administered by whom? Some more government bureaucracy and someone would find a way to circumvent it or arrange to have people fail/pass depending on how much money they had or how much influence. No, I think it's a terrible idea, but I think it would be wonderful if people cared enough to educate THEMSELVES on the issues and the candidates before they cast a vote.

Not unless the people that are deemed too stupid to vote are also excused from paying any and all taxes income and payroll.

That is why we broke from the British "NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION"

Yes. I am intelligent, educated and informed. I appreciate the differences between the main political protagonists in this country, and how the election of each will affect this country's future security and prosperity, both domestically and internationally. So why should I only have equal say with the shambling neanderthals whose only interests in life are the daily doings of so-called 'celebrities', and getting rat-arsed on a Friday night?
